ALL COLD/FLU, SORE THROAT AND GENERAL PAIN RELIEF MEDICATIONS CAN BE SUPPLIED AT ANY LOCAL PHARMACY QUOTING THE "PHARMACY FIRST" SCHEME AVAILABLE TO ALL PATIENTS FREE OF CHARGE. PLEASE MAKE USE OF THIS FREE AND CONVENIENT SERVICE PRIOR TO MAKING A GP APPOINTMENT FOR THESE MINOR AILMENTS.

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Monica is available all Wednesday and Thursday. She is trained in taking blood, blood pressure, height and weight etc. She is not a trained nurse so cannot assist with any medical questions you may have.

Assistant Manager

The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Susan will visit patients who are housebound and who need nursing care. The District Nurses are based at Parkhead Health Centre and can be contacted there every week day the District Nurses also participate in the annual influenza vaccine programme and administer the vaccine to our Practice’s housebound patients.

Health Visitors

The Health Visitors aim is to promote good health of young children. At times the Health Visitor will visit you at home. They also hold Child Health Clinics; please contact practice for details
